Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuroscience ICU in New York, NY. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care, assessments, and education in a collaborative environment.

The RN will develop care plans, assess knowledge and health status, and work with a multidisciplinary team to adjust care as needed. Current NYS RN license and BCLS/ACLS/PALS are required, with a preferred BSN and clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; must enroll in an accredited program within 24 months if hired after September 1, 2010.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; BCLS, ACLS, or PALS required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate plan of care.
• Systematically assess patient's knowledge base and health through interviews and examinations.
• Consult with multidisciplinary health care team regarding nursing assessment findings.
• Create individualized plan of care based on patient problems and input from the care team.
• Communicate changes in patient status to care team members.
• Collaborate with team members to adjust the plan of care as necessary.
• Provide and delegate patient care according to established protocols.
• Conduct clinical rounds and administer medications to patients.
• Document patient care on appropriate forms.
• Identify patients' learning needs and develop a teaching plan of care.
