Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Anesthesia Critical Care team within the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role focuses on inpatient critical care, daily progress notes, and coordinating multidisciplinary rounds for neurosurgery and neurology patients in a large Level I trauma center.

Preferred credentials include Adult Acute Care NP or PA-C with active Alabama licensure, BLS (and ACLS/PALS possibly required).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with an Acute Care NP certification or PA program graduate.
• Licensed as Advanced Practice Nurse (CRNP Acute Care) or PA-C with Alabama board certification.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care within scope of practice to surgical patients under collaborating physician or supervising physician.
• Coordinate plans of care, discharge planning, and referrals to meet age-specific needs.
• Perform physical exams, document progress, order/interpret tests, and participate in performance improvement.

Education

Master's degree in Nursing with Acute Care NP certification; or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
