The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso invites applications for a full-time neuroscientist joining our interdisciplinary medical education team. The successful candidate will help develop and deliver an integrated clinical-presentations based curriculum, teach neuroscience to medical students, and engage in education research and service activities.

Candidates should have doctoral or medical degrees, licensed or eligible in Texas, and a track record of scholarship.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience or closely related discipline, or M.D./D.O. or equivalent medical degree.
• Texas medical licensure or eligibility for Texas Medical License for physician candidates.
• Board certification by a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties for MD/DO candidates.
• Experience teaching neuroscience to medical students and evidence of scholarship.

Responsabilités

• Participates in course administration and instruction for the pre-clerkship phase of the medical school curriculum.
• Develops and delivers an integrated curriculum blending basic science and clinical concepts.
• Employs multiple teaching methods including case-based instruction, large- and small-group discussion, lecture, demonstration, simulation, and team-based learning.
• Provides formative and summative assessment of medical student performance.
• Supports medical students with feedback and advising.
• Collaborates with course and curriculum committees, faculty, and administrators.
• Contributes to institutional governance and public service; engages in research and scholarship.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and adheres to institutional policies.

Formation

Ph.D. in Neuroscience or closely related

M.D. or D.O. or equivalent medical degree

Texas Medical Licensure or eligibility

ABMS board certification for M.D./D.O. candidates
