Job summary

Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI) is seeking an Education Outreach Coordinator to join the Education Outreach team. You will share neuroscience concepts with K-12 and public audiences through classroom visits and community outreach, leading day-to-day delivery of the Ask Max K-12 program and coordinating a high school summer internship program across Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Responsibilities include supporting events such as Brain Exploration Day and The Max Brain

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in biological sciences or a related field; PhD preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with students.
Strong familiarity with neuroscience terminology and concepts.
Excellent communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Designs, schedules, and executes the Ask Max K-12 education outreach program in schools across Palm Beach and Martin Counties, in line with program goals;
Responds promptly to teachers, schools, and event partners regarding Ask Max bookings and coordinates day-to-day scheduling;
Keeps the Ask Max schedule and event log consistently up to date; manages care of the Ask Max Van, including fueling, washes, and servicing, and ensures it is stocked with lesson materials before and between events;
Coordinates MPFI summer internship programs for high school students, including schedules and enrichment activities;
