Job summary

Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. seeks a senior sales leader to manage and develop a high-performing specialty sales team focused on CNS, psychiatry, schizophrenia and related areas.

The role emphasizes recruiting, coaching, and maximizing performance across a district with significant travel. The candidate should have extensive pharmaceutical leadership experience, superb communication skills, and the ability to build strategic relationships with healthcare providers, facilities and key accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years in the pharmaceuticals industry with 4 years of Sales Management preferred.
• Candidates with fewer than 3 years of leadership experience may be considered for the Associate DSM position.
• Specialty experience preferred: CNS, psychiatry, schizophrenia, bipolar or depression.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and develop high performing team of specialty sales representatives.
• Documented high performance of sales and leadership track record.
• Driver's license and clean driving history.
• Ability to secure and maintain credentialing requirements of healthcare providers and facilities.
• High interpersonal, written, and verbal skills; strong analytical and business acumen.
• Must reside near major airport within the district; travel up to 75%.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Specialty experience preferred: CNS, psychiatry, schizophrenia, bipolar or depression, other specialty experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and develop high performing team of specialty sales representatives.
• Documented high performance of sales and leadership track record.
• Driver's license and clean driving history.
• Ability to secure and maintain reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and business acumen.
• Must reside near major airport within the district.
• Ability to maintain effectiveness and flexibility in an innovative work environment.
