Job summary

Vanda Pharmaceuticals is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead a specialty sales team across CNS/psychiatry indications. The role requires an extensive pharma background, proven leadership, and the ability to travel up to 75%.

The DSM will recruit, train and mentor a high-performing team, build strong doctor and facility relationships, and drive execution in a dynamic, startup-like environment within a major airport district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years in the pharmaceuticals industry with 4 years of Sales Management preferred.
• Candidates with fewer than 3 years of leadership experience may be considered for the Associate DSM position.
• Specialty experience preferred: CNS, psychiatry, schizophrenia, bipolar or depression, other specialty experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and develop high performing team of specialty sales representatives.
• Documented high performance of sales and leadership track records.
• Driver’s license and clean driving history.
• Ability to secure and maintain reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and business acumen.
• Must reside near major airport within the district.
• Ability to maintain effectiveness and flexibility in an innovative work environment.
• Experience in small company and start-up work environments.
• Ability to travel up to 75%.
