Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated cell biologist to join its Discovery Neuroscience group. The role supports early discovery for Parkinson's and related neurodegenerative diseases with in vitro data generation and model development.

You will work with scientists across discovery biology to advance programs, using neuronal cultures, iPSC-derived neurons, and recombinant cell lines, while ensuring data quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with cellular biology techniques and data generation.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret cellular experiments to support discovery neuroscience programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to support program objectives and data interpretation.
• Maintain and work with primary neuronal cultures, iPSC-derived neurons and glia, and other in vitro models.
• Support compound testing, genetic knockdown/KO and overexpression studies, assay development, and proof-of-concept studies.
• Contribute to assay optimization, troubleshooting, and new in vitro method implementation.
• Generate, organize, and analyze experimental data with accuracy and reproducibility.
• Maintain detailed and compliant experimental records and study documentation.
