Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a motivated co-op student for the Future Talent Program in Neuroscience Discovery. The position involves planning and executing in vitro and/or in vivo CNS experiments, with collaboration across biology, chemistry, and pharmacology teams.

The candidate should be enrolled in a biological sciences program and plan to work full-time for six months starting in early to mid-2027. A strong interest in neuroscience and data analysis is essential.

Qualifications

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a BS/BA/MA/PhD degree program in the biological sciences or related disciplines.
Candidates must have completed at least two years toward degree by June 2026.
Availability to work full-time for 6 months starting early to mid-2027.
Theoretical knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture, neuroscience, pharmacology, toxicology or related areas.

Responsibilities

Design, execute, interpret and report in vitro and/or in vivo experiments.
Develop, execute, and troubleshoot new in vitro or in vivo assays and imaging methods.
Communicate data clearly to teams and stakeholders.
Collaborate with medicinal chemistry and pharmacology teams.
Review published work to guide research.
