Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a motivated co-op for the Future Talent Program in our Neuroscience team to support mass spectrometry-based proteomics studies, including DIA data analysis and sample preparation.

The role involves LC-MS workflows, data analysis with Skyline/Spectronaut, and collaboration across CNS drug discovery; candidates must be enrolled in a related BS/BA or graduate program with at least two years completed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in BS/BA or graduate degree program in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, analytical chemistry, bioengineering, neuroscience, pharmacology, computational biology, or related discipline.
• Completed at least 2 years toward degree by co-op start date.
• Hands-on biology/chemistry lab skills and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support sample preparation for discovery and targeted proteomics using neuroscience-relevant samples.
• Assist LC-MS proteomics workflows focusing on DIA experiments.
• Analyze proteomics data using Skyline, EncyclopeDIA, Spectronaut or equivalent.
• Contribute to optimization of sample-prep workflows including AssayMAP/KingFisher when applicable.
• Organize and graph data; communicate results clearly to teams.
• Monitor literature to guide research and collaborate across functions.
