Job description

The Department of Medical Psychology is seekingNeuropsychometrist to administer and scorepsychological and neuropsychological tests to medical andpsychiatric patients and research participants, under facultysupervision.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administers and scores psychological and neuropsychologicaltests to medical and psychiatric.
  • patients and research participants, under facultysupervision.
  • Assembles past medical and psychological records.
  • Prepares history of patients for incorporation intopsychological reports.
  • Makes and records behavioral observations.
  • Participates in team meetings to present findings and recommendinterventions.
  • Enters test scores into computer databases; maintainscomputerized records.
  • Orders and maintains supplies of assessment materials.
  • Assists with research protocols.
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Sbilities
  • Neuropsychological test administration and scoring.
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data forassessment of patients and prepare reports.
  • Organized, precise, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent social skills and clinical judgment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SPSS, Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of psychometrics and ability to perform basicstatistical analyses.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology or relateddiscipline.
  • Graduate coursework in psychological assessment.
  • Some experience in a patient setting, doing clinical work orclinical research.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience,and additional related experience may substitute for requirededucation beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, tothe extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of psychological testing experience.
  • Must be eligible for certification as a Psychology Associate inthe State of Maryland.

Starting Salary Range: $49,200 - $86,200 Annually ($65,000targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employeeswho provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas,laboratories, working with research subjects, or involvingcommunity contact requires documentation of immune status againstRubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella(chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received theTdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may includedocumentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicellavaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratorytesting. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases areordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunizationdocumentation from their own health care providers. Anyvaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no costin our Occupational Health office.
