Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks a full-time Academic Neuropathologist to join a large, multidisciplinary Department of Pathology. The role includes clinical service in surgical pathology, teaching residents and medical students, and active participation in research within a leading academic medical center.

Ideal candidates will be Board Certified/Eligible in AP/CP or AP and hold or pursue NY State medical licensure.

• Solid diagnostic skills, enthusiasm for teaching and strong communication abilities.

Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Academic Neuropathologist

The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast. We are seeking applicants for a full-time Academic Neuropathologist position to join a staff of 35 Anatomic Pathologists.

Training or experience in Ophthalmic Pathology is desired but not required. The Division of Anatomic Pathology practices a \"hybrid\" model of subspecialty sign-out which allows for a combination of 2 or more subspecialties, if desired. The Department receives approximately 66,000 Surgical Pathology cases/year, including ~400 central nervous system tumor cases, in addition to Neuromuscular biopsies and other Neuropathology specimens.

Candidates should possess solid diagnostic skills, enthusiasm for teaching and strong communication abilities; responsibilities for both positions include clinical services in surgical pathology, interactions with clinicians and multidisciplinary patient care teams, involvement in the residency training program and medical student education and other activities. Collaborative and translational research opportunities are available and encouraged.
