Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, seeks an Academic Surgical Pathologist specializing in Renal Pathology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor for a full-time position.

The candidate should have subspecialty fellowship training and/or extensive experience (5+) in renal pathology, with evidence of scholarly activity. Responsibilities include sign-out of renal biopsies, teaching, and research participation.

Qualifications

• Must have an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Board eligible/certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Clinical Pathology (CP) or AP.
• Subspecialty fellowship in renal pathology or 5+ years of renal pathology experience.
• Demonstrated scholarly activity/publications.

Responsibilities

• Share sign-out of ~600 renal biopsies (native and transplant).
• Share sign-out of surgical pathology specimens in other subspecialties as appropriate.
• Perform autopsies and participate in resident training and medical student teaching.
• Engage in translational or clinical research.

City/State: Bronx, New York Department: Work Days: DAYS VARY Scheduled Hours: Hours Vary Scheduled Daily Hours: Hours Vary Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Academic Surgical Pathologist Renal Subspecialty The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast. We are seeking an applicant for a full-time Academic Surgical Pathology position in Renal Pathology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor level to join a staff of 25 surgical pathologists. The candidate should have subspecialty fellowship training and/or extensive experience (5+) in renal pathology with evidence of scholarly activity. Other subspecialty or general surgical pathology training or experience is also desirable.

This position provides an opportunity to work closely on clinical and research activities with adult, pediatric and transplant nephrology services. Responsibilities include shared sign out of ~600 renal biopsies (native and transplant), shared sign out of surgical pathology specimens in another subspecialty as appropriate, autopsies, resident training, medical student teaching, and participation in translational or clinical research.
