Job summary

Novartis Group Companies in the Central region (US) seeks a Patient and Community Liaison (PCL) to engage with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy communities through live and virtual events. You will educate patients and caregivers on disease, therapies, and expectations, and build relationships with local advocacy chapters.

This role requires 5+ years in patient education or healthcare, a Bachelor's degree in healthcare, and 70% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare (e.g. social work, genetic counseling) or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient education, pharmaceutical, or healthcare support roles.
• Ability to travel 70% of time (weekend travel required) and reside close to a major airport.
• Experience working within regulatory and compliance guidelines in healthcare/pharma.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and empathetic information about disease progression, symptoms, and unmet needs for patients and caregivers.
• Educate patients and caregivers about the benefits, proper use, and potential side effects of brand products.
• Develop relationships with local advocacy chapter leads across the country.
• Attend events nationwide, hosting Novartis tables and meeting with families, including weekend engagements.
• Reactively respond to virtual inquiries from patients/caregivers via phone or email.
• Hold virtual meetings with local patient advocacy leads and communities, including after-hours sessions.
• Provide insights to cross-functional teams to improve educational materials and resources.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and document interactions for outcomes tracking.
