BluePearl Pet Hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to support our neurology team with anesthesia, diagnostics and critical-care procedures. The role offers a sign-on bonus up to $12,000 and an optional moving allowance for relocation.

Qualifications

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique
• Interpret and monitor vital signs
• Administer medications and calculate medical math
• Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
• Feeding tube placement and central line care
• Mentor and train co-workers
• Empathy in client communications

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals such as temp, HR, RR and BP.
• Perform digital radiography and proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal vital signs ranges and alert Veterinarian when needed.
• Interpret blood pressure and other vitals and report changes.
• Identify patients at risk and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications.
• Place IV catheters and perform phlebotomy.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with empathy.
