Qualifications

• Strong track record of NIH-funded research in neuroprotection or stroke biology.
• Recognized international leader with exemplary scholarship in neuroscience.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor graduate and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Pursue research and scholarly work in neuroprotection and neuronal death related to stroke.
• Seek external funding to support the research program.
• Teach and train medical students, MD/PhD and PhD graduate students.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of department research activities.
• Advise Medical Student Research within the Department of Medical Education.
• Participate in teaching of medical and graduate students and mentor researchers.
