Responsibilities

Drives research projects scientifically and determines the course of research as evidenced by leadership, obtaining funding, writing, or other recognition.
Establishes and conducts active, complex scientific research as an independent researcher.
Makes strong intellectual contributions to scientific strategies of the group/lab and plays a leadership role by acting as subject matter expert in field.
Contributes to the design and execution of experiments and/or research projects.
Exercises judgment in selecting methods and technologies to obtain results.
May collaborate with external researchers and/or receive external project funding support.
Presents results and prepares publications.
May assist PI in the training and supervision of other staff.
