Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Department of Neurology seeks a Physician Assistant to support neuromuscular outpatient duties at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Working with attending physicians, you will coordinate care, interview patients, perform histories and examinations, and order tests.

You will prescribe medications under Maryland Nurse Practice Act, participate in research protocols, and provide education to patients and families. Proficiency with EPIC Meditech and EPR systems is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; NCCPA certification; completion of a CAAHEP-certified Physician Assistant program.
• Must be licensed as PA in the State of Maryland or other state where practicing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of the JHH credentialing process is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, takes medical histories, and performs physical examinations.
• Prescribes medications under the Maryland Nurse Practice Act and the DEA guidelines.
• Provides education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, therapies, and procedures.
• Coordinates scheduling, orders tests, evaluates results, and participates in care under protocols.
• Identifies eligible patients for IRB-approved clinical research and manages data collection.
• Proctors and collaborates with supervising physicians and participates in rounds and meetings.
