Nurse Practitioner (NP) Outpatient – Neurology

Adventist Health – Hanford, CA

Adventist Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Neurology team in Hanford, California. This provider will work collaboratively with neurologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological disorders, including stroke, epilepsy, migraines, neuropathy, movement disorders, dementia, and other neurological conditions
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress
  • Conduct inpatient neurology consultations and assist in the management of hospitalized patients
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, and neuroimaging results
  • Collaborate with neurologists and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate and optimize patient care
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, disease management, and follow-up care
  • Coordinate referrals and transitions of care between inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the EMR system
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain evidence-based practice standards

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, ACNP, or AGACNP preferred)
  • DEA certification and furnishing license required
  • Previous Neurology experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
Preferred Skills
  • Experience evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders
  • Knowledge of stroke care, neuroimaging, and neurological diagnostic testing
  • Experience working in an inpatient and/or hospital-based setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
