Job summary

MUSC Health East in Mt. Pleasant, SC, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for outpatient clinics. The role supports patient care under an RN, with duties ranging from interviewing patients and measuring vitals to preparing exam rooms and assisting with procedures.

Position is 20 hours per week, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays, and offers on-site parking. A CMA certification and relevant education are required; supervision is provided by clinic managers and RNs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One (1) year of patient care experience preferred.
• Six (6) months CMA/RMA experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures calibration, cleaning and maintenance of clinical/lab equipment as required by OSHA, DHEC and UMA.
• Maintains and reviews patient records and reports test results; communicates plan of care to the patient.
• Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness of patient care environment.
• Schedules appointments and referrals based on urgency; screens patients and provides patient education.
• Triages patients and assists with exams and procedures; administers prescribed treatments and tests.
