Job summary

UC San Diego Health in La Jolla is seeking a Medical Assistant - Neurology (Career, 80%) to support front-office and clinical operations in a fast-paced neurology clinic.

The role requires MA certification, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience with Epic systems and bilingual Spanish is a plus, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, intake, and patient care coordination.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion certificate.
• BART or BLS at hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.
• Minimum 2 years of MA experience in ambulatory practice.
• Experience in mental health and/or addiction treatment setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, and body mechanics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Front office management, appointment scheduling, patient check-in, authorizations, accurate billing, and payment processing.
• Supply chain and forms management; back-office duties including equipment calibration and environment cleaning.
• Use EMR for charting, patient screening, translation (Bilingual English/Spanish).
• Occasionally float to other departments to assist.
