Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Center Seattle in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team. This full-time position offers a collaborative hospital environment with Emergency/Critical Care and specialty services.

The ideal candidate will hold LVT/CVT/RVT credentials (or be pending licensure), have 1-2 years of clinical experience (neurology a plus), and possess anesthesia experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) required or pending licensure
• 1-2 years of clinical experience highly preferred—neurology experience is a bonus
• Must have anesthesia experience

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, accurate, and comprehensive medical records, including relevant history taking.
• Assist doctors with neurological examinations while demonstrating proper handling and restraint of patients with neurological disorders.
• Understand seizure control principles and medications used to treat epilepsy; recognize/address seizure activity.
• Able to recognize changes in mentation and alert the DVM.
• Produce diagnostic thoracic and spinal radiographs.
• Aseptic preparation of surgical site and sterile opening of instruments.
• Sterile preparation of CSF tap site and aseptic technique for CSF collection.
• Administer analgesic CRI under DVM direction.
• Anesthetic induction and monitoring for MRIs and surgical procedures.
• Catheter placement and maintenance (peripheral, central, arterial, urinary).
• CPR per RECOVER standards.
• Use safe restraining techniques and maintain clean treatment areas.
• Work collaboratively and support fellow team members.
