Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time position in the Neurology clinic. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with occasional travel as needed.

The LPN will document care in the EMR, perform injections and venipuncture, monitor vitals, review medications, assist during procedures, and support the provider with pre-visit planning and triage. Applicants must hold an active LPN license in the applicable state and have BLS; prior medical office

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in applicable state.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of practical nursing.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Documents patient care in the medical record.
• Triages calls, gathers data, and advises per protocol.
• Tracks laboratory and diagnostic tests and presents results.
• Pre-visit planning with provider and care team.
• Medication administration including injections.
• Check vital signs, height, and weight.
• Review medication history and update list.
• Assist with health maintenance requirements.
• Assist during procedures and clean-up.
• Follow safety standards and CLIA/TJC regulations.
• Report patient condition to provider after procedures.
• Assist with patient inquiries for refills, scheduling, and referrals.
• Electronic documentation of care in EMR.
• May enter orders in EMR per provider order.
• Perform waived laboratory tests and POC testing; QC.
• Venipuncture; assist with specimen collection.
• Provide patient with depart summary and review.
• Manage vaccine and pharmaceutical orders and inventory.
