Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care within a coordinated team across multiple departments. You will implement the nursing process, administer prescribed medications, and document care in accordance with standards and state laws.

You will collaborate to develop patient care plans, educate patients and families, and participate in performance improvement initiatives while pursuing professional development and evidence-based practice guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred.
• Experience as defined by department guidelines may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in patient care.
• Administers medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques and state laws.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
• Documents care according to standards of care.
• Develops and executes a patient plan of care per physician/clinic policy.
• Educates patients and families to support understanding.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and shared governance.
• Engages in personal development and evidence-based practice guidelines.
• Illinois: 10 hours of continued education as required for licensure.
