Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, KS is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic RN for Neurology at the Olathe Medical Pavilion. This PRN, part‑time role focuses on delivering nursing care in an ambulatory clinic using the nursing process and independent judgment.

The RN will perform assessments, respond to patient treatment calls, educate patients and families, and coordinate care with the health team. Licensure and BLS are required, with a preference for ambulatory nursing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate with nursing education.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• 2+ years RN experience in ambulatory clinics desired.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the ambulatory setting, based on the nursing process and within role/scope of practice.
• Performs preliminary assessment of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow‑up with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates appropriate intervention.
• Implements appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrates appropriate use of expert peers and/or management as applicable.
• Accepts accountability and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by healthcare providers to who care delegated.
• Responsible for educational instruction to patients and families with health care needs.
• Completes necessary forms and documentation in patient charts and responds to patient calls.
