Job summary

Riverside Health's Gloucester Neurology Specialists in Gloucester, Virginia is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time position. Under the supervision of the physician and practice manager, you will assist with patient care, obtain vitals, prepare exam rooms, and support clinic operations.

You will help with medication administration under supervision, process refills, manage inventory, ensure HIPAA compliance, and coordinate appointments and referrals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical competency and update patient records.
• Prepare patient for examination and obtain vital signs.
• Administer medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
• Process prescription refill requests and forward to pharmacies.
• Maintain medical inventory and stock examination rooms.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and scope of practice.
