Job summary

The West Virginia University Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) in neurology to coordinate care across inpatient and ambulatory settings. The APP leads assessments, orders tests, and collaborates with neurology faculty and team to develop comprehensive plans of care.

Responsibilities include daily rounds, discharge planning, teaching residents and students, and ensuring evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional ALS training at the department’s discretion.
• Acute care or neurology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for neurology patients in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Completes daily rounds and pre-procedure evaluations.
• Orders tests or consults as appropriate in collaboration with neurology faculty.
• Documents plan of care and communicates findings in the medical record.
• Facilitates discharge planning and coordinates necessary services.
