Job summary

UHA University Health Associates in Weirton, WV seeks an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to deliver coordinated neurological care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The APP assesses, treats, and plans for neurology patients across inpatient, post-discharge, and ambulatory settings.

The role includes education of residents and students, collaboration with neurology faculty, and leadership in implementing care plans that align with clinical guidelines and hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the department’s discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for neurology patients in inpatient, post-discharge and ambulatory settings.
• Completes daily rounds and pre-procedure evaluations.
• Orders additional tests or consults following established guidelines.
• Documents plan of care and communicates results to the team.
• Coordinates discharge planning and educational components for patients and families.
