Job summary

Mount Carmel, a sentinel health system, seeks a Neurology APRN- NP for outpatient care. The role provides primary and acute neurological services, aligned with organizational standards and scope of practice. A physician assistant will also be considered.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Nursing or specialty field, is a licensed Ohio RN with APN credentials, and meets department-specific certification requirements such as BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM, and PALS; a DEA license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters required; advanced practitioner program completed.
• Licensed as RN in Ohio with APN certification.
• ANCC certification preferred; BLS/ACLS/NRP/EFM/PALS required in some departments.
• DEA license or ability to obtain for controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary or acute neurological healthcare in outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to manage patient care.
• Adhere to scope of practice, policies and mission of Mount Carmel/Trinity Health.

Shift: Description

Neurology APP, Outpatient Position Purpose: The APRN - NP Specialty provides primary or acute healthcare services for specialty health conditions in Neurology in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. We will consider a Physician Assistant as well.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Masters required in Science, Nursing or Specialty field.
• Graduate of an Advanced Practitioner program.
• Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in designated specialty required.
• American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) is preferred BLS provider certification required ACLS, NRP, EFM and PALs required for some departments (see Exhibit A) Holds a DEA license for controlled substances or ability to obtain as required All qualifications above are subject to grandfathering by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Experience

Minimum of two years recent and relevant nursing experience preferred.
