Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Amarillo, TX is seeking a full-time Neurologist to treat veterans with seizure disorders, MS, neurodegenerative conditions and migraines. Qualifications

• Board eligible or board certified in Neurology preferred.
• 3+ years of clinical practice in neurology.
• 5+ years experience in diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Treat and manage neurological conditions including seizures, MS, neurodegenerative disorders and migraines.
• Conduct neurologic consultations and follow-up care for Amarillo VA Health Care System patients.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians on neurological issues.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood tests, imaging).
• Perform lumbar punctures, EEGs, and Tensilon tests; develop treatment plans.
• Direct nurses and medical technicians; monitor patient progress; provide staff training.
