Responsibilities of the Neurologist:

• Diagnose complex medical problems through patient history, examination, and neurological tests
• Counsel patients on neurological disorders and their backgrounds
• Order and interpret neurological tests and neuroimaging studies
• Prescribe and administer treatments and medications
• Monitor behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatments and medications
• Order supportive care services for patients
• Participate in neuroscience research activities
• Collaborate with medical professionals in the community and hospitals
• Stay updated with neurological developments, treatments, and medications
• Perform specialized treatments such as sleep disorders, neuroimmunology, neuro-oncology, behavioral neurology, and neurogenetics
• Perform and interpret lumbar punctures, EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies
