Why do we need a Neurologist?
The neurologist will deliver a high standard of medical care to individuals by taking the time to listen carefully to their concerns and conducting a thorough assessment of each patient’s health. Customize a care plan for each patient by assembling and collaborating with an integrated, interdisciplinary team of medical professionals who will provide that care. Foster improvements and enhancements in all aspects of the care of patients with disorders of the nervous system to advance the practice of neurology.
The Impact You’ll Have
- You'll evaluate, diagnose, and treat neurological disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, including strokes, dementia, seizures, and Parkinson's disease
- You'll order, review, and analyze tests, such as electroencephalograms and EMG’s
- You'll share findings with the entire medical team, and communicate treatment options internally and with patients, family members, and caregivers
- You'll monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans, medications, and considering referrals as appropriate
- You'll respond quickly to emergent situations requiring time-sensitive evaluation and treatment
Need to Haves
- Doctorate of Medicine
- License to practice medicine in Nebraska
- Certification in neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting
- Professional demeanor, ability to work amid interruptions, ability to handle patient complaints, excellent judgment in dealing with patients, care in protecting patient privacy and confidentiality
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, establish priorities, work independently, and ability to keep professional boundaries with patients.
- Individual must have the ability to work in a team environment. Must demonstrate a deep concern for the health and well-being of others
