Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Electroencephalographic/Neurodiagnostic Technologist to perform EEGs, EMG/NCV, and ambulatory EEGs in line with ASE T guidelines. The role requires coordinating procedures, providing clear instructions, and maintaining accurate billing and records within the neurodiagnostic department.

Minimum education includes a health-related bachelor’s degree or CAAHEP/ABRET-credentialed training; 1–2 years’ related experience may be acceptable.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field required.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP Neurodiagnostic Tech program or ABRET recognized program or 1–2 years related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsabilidades

• Performs all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hour ambulatory EEGs, EMG/NCV testing, in accordance with ASE T guidelines and departmental policy/procedures. (65%)
• Schedules neurodiagnostic procedures and gives accurate instructions. (10%)
• Performs all billing documentation and maintains all departmental records according to departmental policy/procedures. (10%)
• Maintains electrophysiological equipment, supplies, and performs quality control and analysis of all neurodiagnostic testing devices. (10%)
• Participates in activities to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by the department. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field; or graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) Neurodiagnostic Tech program or certificate of completion from an American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) recognized neurodiagnostic program or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

• Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG. T), Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T, or Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP) through ABRET
• EMT, Medical Assistant Certification, PA Licensed Practical Nurse.
