Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh seeks a neurodiagnostic technologist to perform routine and complex neurodiagnostic testing on patients, including EEGs, portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hour ambulatory EEGs, and EMG/NVC testing, in line with ASE T guidelines and department policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years neurodiagnostic experience in a hospital or physician's office.
• Must become credentialed by ABRET for the R. EEG T or AAET for the R.NCS.T within one year.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical neurodiagnostic procedures including all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hr ambulatory EEG's, EMG/NVC testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by ASET and departmental policies/procedures. (40%)
• Keeps equipment clean and in operating condition, detects instrument malfunction, makes minor adjustments or reports need for major repairs. (20%)
• Demonstrates leadership, technical, and analytical skills for decision making. (15%)
• Participates in department projects, initiatives, data collection, audits, quality improvements, and continuing education. (15%)
• Guides new employees through an effective training curriculum to ensure successful integration and performance (5%)
• Completes all charges according to department guidelines. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
