Job Summary

The Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic studies on infants and children, which include monitoring equipment calibration and set-up. Will process documentation in order to provide accurate information to the physician. Is able to perform all duties described as well as distribute the workload and provide oversight of the staff.

Pay Range

Minimum $41.47 Midpoint $54.95 Maximum $68.43

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

  • Required : Minimum five (5) years of direct pediatric patient care experience within a hospital setting.
  • Preferred : Over six (6) years of pediatric experience. Previous supervisory experience highly preferred.

Education

  • Required : High School Diploma / GED or equivalent with completion of Neurodiagnostic program or experience in an EEG Laboratory.
  • Preferred : Associate degree and completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic program. Completion of some professional management classes.

Training

  • Required : None required.

Specialized Skills

  • Required : Ability to work in a team environment with the patience and understanding to work with the pediatric population. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship, collaboration, and customer service skills. Strong analytical and organization skills; strong critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.
  • Preferred : Bilingual in English / Spanish.

Licensure

  • Required : Basic Life Support (BLS); Registered EEG Technologist.

Work Environments - Functional Demand :

Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push / pull + / - 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient) .
