Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to perform EEG/EMG testing and monitoring in a clinical Neurological Testing Center. This non-exempt role requires 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays, with benefits eligibility beginning after your start date.

Responsibilities include electrode placement, data recording, quality control, and collaboration with neurologists and center staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certified in basic cardiac life support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registry in respective discipline (EEG, EMG) corresponding with the clinical area of work for the institution.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required paperwork before study is performed including relevant patient history.
• Independently prepare patient for test and/or monitoring by placing recording electrodes with established protocols.
• Recognize technically inadequate signals and obtain troubleshooting assistance if necessary.
• Recognize abnormalities/potential changes and communicate to a Coordinator or neurologist.
• Maintain equipment in clean and organized condition and stock supplies.
• Record study and enter appropriate notations and clinical observations.
• Encourage teamwork through interdepartmental communication and problem resolution.
• Provide training for new Neurodiagnostic Technicians and student preceptors.
