Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago seeks a Neurodiagnostic (ND) Tech Assistant to support the Epilepsy Center and Clinical Neurophysiology teams in EEG data acquisition and patient care.

You will assist Neurodiagnostic Techs, report patient concerns, and participate in an ASET EEG training program with hands-on coaching to advance to a Neurodiagnostic Technologist role. This position emphasizes collaboration, effective communication, and a commitment to safety and quality in a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Minimum of one year of college coursework completed.
• Experience as CNA, MA, EKG tech, or allied health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists Neurodiagnostic Techs with tasks for the successful acquisition of routine and/or video EEG data for patients as requested.
• Report all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to the ND Technologists.
• Disconnects patient from the electrodes, cleans and removes equipment from the patient room at the conclusion of the study.
• Performs cleaning of equipment, bed rail pads, and restocks supplies as needed.
• Works cooperatively as a team member to foster achievement of unit/hospital goals.
• Active completion of EEG 200-211 courses through the ASET program.
