Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a Neurodiagnostic Tech II to perform standard and complex neurodiagnostic tests and polysomnographic testing in the Sleep Disorders Lab. Work may be in lab or bedside, with a focus on patient-centered care within the UNC Sleep Center culture.

Responsibilities include performing diagnostic testing, room and equipment setup, reading and scoring tests, and potentially supervising other technologists.

Qualifications

• Graduation from AMA or CAAHEP accredited Sleep or Neurodiagnostics program (or equivalent).
• Licensure: RPSGT or RST.
• Experience as described: no prior experience required if program completed; otherwise 2 years with Sleep/Neurodiagnostics procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform polysomnographic testing and associated CPAP/oxygen therapies.
• Set up room and equipment; calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Read and score neurodiagnostic and polysomnographic tests.
• Provide guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Disorders Lab.
• Take patient history and instruct patients on test preparation and post-test procedures.
• Remote scoring opportunities may be available.
