Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston, MA is seeking an Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) Technician or Neurophysiology Technician. The role performs EEG monitoring, routine and ambulatory EEGs, and data review, with data entry into Epic for study acquisition.

Ideal candidates have 0-1 year experience (or 1-3 years preferred), knowledge of nervous system anatomy, and strong communication skills to interact with nurses and physicians. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ABRET EEG Technologist registration preferred.
• 0-1 year experience preferred; willing to train new graduates.
• Knowledge of nervous system anatomy and physiology.
• Proficient in medical terminology related to the nervous system.
• Excellent communication with nurses, physicians and patients.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Experience with EEG scoring.

Responsibilities

• Performs EEG extended monitoring for hours, including awake, sleep, or coma states.
• Performs routine EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, and data review with annotations.
• Prepares patient and monitors for localization of seizure focus with 16+ channel telemetry.
• Enters test results into Epic and maintains EEG system and related software/hardware.
• Adapt to workflow changes as directed by Clinical Lead EEG Tech or Ops Manager.
