Job summary

You will prepare patients, apply electrodes, calibrate equipment, monitor vital signs, and ensure safety and accuracy, while maintaining charts and adhering to infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• EEG Certification is required.
• 1-2 years of experience as an EEG technician.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard electroencephalographic procedures for patients, as ordered by physicians.
• Explains the procedure to the patient and ensures patient's cooperation during the examination; prepares patient for procedure (e.g. prepares site for electrodes).
• Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions on the patient's head and checks their performance.
• Calibrates and adjusts the EEG apparatus in accordance with standard procedure; reports malfunctioning equipment promptly to supervisor.
• Selects predetermined electrode combinations as well as special combinations made necessary by the case under study.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
