CHOC Children's in Orange, CA seeks a Neurodiagnostic Assistant (NDA) to monitor patients with continuous EEGs and assist the Neurodiagnostic Technologist. The role involves operating monitoring systems and camera controls, with awareness of seizures or paroxysmal events, while EEG data analysis remains outside the NDA's scope.

Ideal candidates will have observation experience in Epilepsy Monitoring Units or Neurodiagnostic Labs, a high school diploma, and relevant ASET/LTM coursework.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; ASET online course completed; LTM 100; EMU intro course
  • First year of accredited Neurodiagnostic Program completed.

Responsabilités

  • Monitor patients undergoing continuous EEGs.
  • Alert Neurodiagnostic Technologist when seizures or paroxysmal events occur.
  • NDA is not qualified to analyze EEG data.

Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Assistant (NDA) monitors patients undergoing continuous Electroencephalograms for safety. The NDA has knowledge of monitoring systems and camera controls. The NDA alerts the Neurodiagnostic Technologist when clinical seizures or paroxysmal events occur however, the NDA is not qualified to analyze EEG data.

Pay Range

Minimum $23.00 Midpoint $26.41 Maximum $29.81

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience
  • Required: No less than 20 hours of observation in Epilepsy Monitoring Units or Neurodiagnostic Laboratory under the direction of a credentialed Neurodiagnostic Technologist.

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of the ASET online course; LTM 100, titles introduction to LTM for EMU personnel.

Work Environments - Functional Demand
