Job summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia seeks an open-rank faculty-level scientist with neurodegeneration or caregiver science expertise as part of UVA's major neuroscience initiative. The recruit will join the UVA Brain Institute and a broad neuroscience community, with strong support to sustain extramural funding.

Candidates will hold an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or DO/PhD, with a record of accomplishment and a forward-looking program.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD or equivalent with a strong, ongoing research program.
• Record of research accomplishments and extramural funding potential.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Establish and advance an innovative research program in neurodegeneration or caregiver science.
• Foster connections between bench research and bedside applications within UVA Brain Institute.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and clinical care for adults where applicable.
