Job summary

University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, seeks an open-rank faculty-level scientist focused on neurodegeneration or caregiver science to join the UVA Brain Institute and the broader neuroscience community.

The successful candidate will hold an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or DO/PhD with a strong research program and potential to attract extramural funding. Clinicians may provide care in neurology, neuropsychology, sleep or behavioral psychology.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have an MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or DO/PhD.
• Clinicians should be board-eligible or board-certified and provide clinical care to adults in neurology, neuropsychology, sleep or behavioral psychology.
• A strong, ongoing independent research program with extramural funding and bench-to-bedside translational focus is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent research program in neurodegeneration or caregiver science.
• Foster collaboration across UVA Brain Institute, departments and schools.
• Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the university.
