Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Neuro and Trauma ICU on the night shift. This full-time position offers 3 x 12-hour nights, with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will assist patients per plan of care, collect data, document activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while supporting nursing staff. Required: high school diploma, acute care experience, CPI training within 90 days, and appropriate certification or training program

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Acute experience preferred.
• Nursing student strongly preferred; completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire or
• TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP and NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program required upon hire.
• EMT Emergency Medical Technician - Military experience with medic/medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire or
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire and
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 Days upon hire required

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Provides and revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
