UAB Medicine’s Neurology Stroke Surgical Stepdown Unit (NSSU) seeks a registered nurse to apply the nursing process in care planning, execution, and evaluation. You will counsel patients and families, monitor therapeutic responses, and participate in a high-acuity stroke/neurosurgery environment.

This role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care around the clock.

Qualifications

• Utilize the nursing process to care for patients and counsel families.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in data gathering, assessment, and planning.
• Coordinate care through delegation and collaboration with the health team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using AACN Synergy Model guidelines.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing duties across the patient’s care team.
• Monitor, document, and evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions.
