Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina's 9 East Neuroscience unit seeks a Registered Nurse I to provide individualized, goal-directed patient care in a fast-paced setting.

The nurse will monitor arterial lines, CVP and ICP, support stroke and neurosurgery patients, and collaborate with the care team to achieve safe outcomes. BLS and ACLS/NIHSS certifications are encouraged to advance Stroke care expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred unless current MUSC employee.
• RN license in SC or a compact state.
• Current BLS certification required.
• BSN must be pursued within two years and completed within four years of hire or reclassification.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care to adults in a neuroscience unit.
• Monitor patients with arterial lines, CVP, ICP and monitor SpO2 and EKG.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs and other team members to ensure safe outcomes.
• Participate in rotating 3-12 hour shifts and adhere to unit protocols and safety standards.
