Job summary

Penn Medicine's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) Neuroscience APP team seeks an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join and provide advanced practice care in inpatient Neurology & Stroke services.

This role involves high autonomy in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for patients with acute neurological disorders, collaborating with physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and case management to

Qualifications

• Requires AHA ACLS certification.
• BLS/CPR as per AHA guidelines.
• PA and/or CRNP licensure required before start date.
• Prescriptive authority required before start date.
• National Board Certification required before start date.
• On-board with credentials review and Medical Board approval.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute stroke alerts and hospitalizations with neuro conditions.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat complex neurological disorders.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and educate patients and families.
• Participate in quality improvement, research, and scholarly activities.
• Educate and mentor nurses, residents, students, and fellow APPs.
• Contribute to departmental and organizational initiatives.
• Perform bedside procedures within credentialing.
