Job summary

UC Health in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support the Neuro Spine Specialty Surgery Unit at UC Medical Center. The PCA provides basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical staff and maintains a clean, safe patient environment for all.

This role involves assisting with ADLs, reporting changes to the RN, and supporting the care team to ensure high-quality patient experiences within a leading academic health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current STNA Certification, Clinical Rotation completed, or PCA Novice Program completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical professional personnel in accordance with delegation law and rules and current education.
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADL) and hygiene tasks as needed.
• Communicate patient observations to RNs in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Record measurements and patient data and help with specimen collection when required.
• Assist with maintenance tasks to ensure a safe care environment and proper equipment placement.
• Support call lights, patient identification, and safety checks per policy.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
