Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a full-time day shift. The unit provides high-acuity telemetry care for neurological and cardiovascular patients with standard nurse-to-patient ratios. A BSN is preferred, with eligible Texas RN licensure and up-to-date BCLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing OR ADN required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year Stepdown, Progressive Care or Intermediate (Tele) Care RN experience or 3 years Telemetry in an acute care hospital preferred
• RN must practice within the Texas Nurse Practice Act and be a team-oriented collaborator
• Texas State RN license or compact license accepted OR Nursing Diploma
• BCLS upon hire required
• ACLS within 90 days of hire required
• CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 60 days of hire required
• PCCN preferred not required
• SCRN preferred not required

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety and infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or family information needs
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift and during transfers
