Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead a team of care professionals in a designated area on a 24-hour basis. You will plan and drive short-, mid-, and long-term goals to enhance patient care operations and align with the Medical Center's mission and values.

You will coach and evaluate staff, promote collaboration with related departments, and administer unit budgets while pursuing cost-saving initiatives and evidence-based standards of practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field is preferred.
• Current Ohio RN license is required.
• Minimum of three years RN clinical experience and two years management experience required.
• Holds a current certification in nursing administration or area of clinical expertise; certification must be achieved within 18 months of employment.
• Prior leadership and management experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees plans, organizes, manages and evaluates patient care operations on a 24-hour basis.
• Develops short-, mid-, and long-term goals to improve unit operations and support the Medical Center's mission.
• Promotes collaboration with other patient care departments and manages unit budget plans.
• Identifies cost-saving initiatives and opportunities for evidence-based practice improvements.
