Job summary

Fulcrum Neuroscience, Inc. seeks a senior modeling scientist to expand the Brain Health and Neurodegeneration (BHN) model, bridging quantitative biology and AI-driven software.

You will develop ODE-based mechanistic models and collaborate with engineers to translate discoveries into experiments and publications. Travel to the South San Francisco office weekly; remote work with periodic travel is supported.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (PhD preferred; MS with relevant experience considered).
• Proven experience developing ODE-based models of complex nonlinear systems.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to support model development and analysis.
• Strong scientific communication across science-engineering boundary.

Responsibilities

• Extend BHN model depth and breadth to additional neurodegenerative diseases.
• Develop and refine ODE-based mechanistic models from equations to integrated modules.
• Use the BHN model to analyze target opportunities, support therapeutic development and design experiments.
• Collaborate with software developers in AI-driven workflows and visualization interfaces to accelerate model development.
• Create clear annotations and documentation of model and software architecture and code.
